Scratches and swirls are the most common paint problem that car owners suffer across the UK. But these annoying marks are easier to remove than most people think; all it takes is the right product, a little know-how and the correct accessories.
Ultimate compound dramatically reduces the time and effort required to restore heavily scratched and swirled paint. Meguiar’s exclusive micro-abrasive technology works fast, but is safe for all finish types.
How to apply by hand?
Ultimate Compound can be applied by hand or by Dual Action Polisher. For best results, apply in the shade to a cool, clean panel.
BY HAND:
1. Dispense a small amount of Meguiar’s Ultimate Compound directly onto an Even Coat Applicator Pad.
2. Work a 30cm X 30cm section at a time using a tight, circular pattern and making 4-6 overlapping passes.
3. Before moving on to the next section, use Meguiar’s Supreme Shine Microfibre to wipe away any product residue before it dries.
4. Follow up with the selected Meguiar’s polish and wax, like Ultimate Polish and Ultimate Wax.
How to apply using Meguiar’s Dual Action Polisher
1. Attach the appropriate compounding pad to Meguiar’s Dual Action Power Polisher (MT320)
2. Dispense an X shape of Meguiar’s Ultimate Compound directly onto the pad.
3. Place the face of the pad flat on the paint. Turn on the polisher and begin buffing using light to moderate pressure in an overlapping pattern while keeping the pad flat against the paint at all times.
4. Work a small section (60cm x 60cm) at a time, until the Ultimate Compound starts to turn clear.
5. Before moving on to the next section, use Meguiar’s Supreme Shine Microfibre to wipe away any product residue before it dries.
6. Follow up with polish and wax such as the Meguiar’s Ultimate Polish and the Meguiar’s Ultimate Liquid Wax.
